That is the thought from Senator John McCain who spoke to a breakfast crowd in a restaurant not far from Myrtle Beach.

My own thought? I totally agree. Granted Iraq and corruption charges were very high on the list of why moderates did not end up voting for the GOP but from everything I read and saw with the Republican base, out of control government spending spearheaded by the Republican Congress and helped greatly by the Bush administration was definitely high on the list of why voters did not turn out.
