Fred Thompson is hitting Huckabee hard in a new flyer, comparing him to Bill Clinton and many framed Romney’s speech on his religion yesterday as a response to Huckabee’s rapid rise with evangelical’s in Iowa. Now the latest AP-Ipsos poll shows Huckabee in second place nationally. Now I should put a disclaimer that this is just ONE poll and we would have to see a trend of new polls to start showing that nationally he is definitively gaining traction BUT it is amazing to see this sudden momentum and shows just how fluid the Republican race is.

Giuliani 26, Huckabee 18, McCain 13, Romney 12, Thompson 11. Margin of error 5.1%
