Supreme Court Rules Against Millionaires Amendment
June 26th, 2008
The Millionaires Amendment, a section of bipartisan campaign finance reform, has been struck down by the Supreme Court today. The case was brought there by Jack Davis, a millionaire running in my local Congressional District who has said he will spend $3 Million of his own money. Under the law his opponents were allowed to accept donations at a higher limit under the notion that this would help prevent those with money from simply buying Congressional seats.
Since this is an issue near and dear to my local area you can check out coverage at 26th District.
