Arrogance or Informed Confidence?
August 11th, 2008
Obama spokesman Bill Burton said to Politico on the changing summer nature of the race that he isn’t “losing any sleep” over what the site calls “his boss’s rough patch.”
The right has been working hard to paint the Obama campaign as an “arrogant” one, molding the candidate into a Kerry-like distant professor who is getting ahead of himself. Obama hasn’t helped in that regard, saying Americans are clinging to god and guns, rolling out a presidential seal and taking a vacation after having turned down all but three debates. One cannot help but wonder if the Obama camp really is heading into Kerry territory or just resting on their laurels seeing an easy victory ahead.

Blah, blah, blah … Arrogance? McCain has a rich wife, and they own multiple residences & investment properties.
But, honestly, what matters is who has “experience” to be President. Well, it's neither! You don't have experience unless you are the incumbent President. We have to decide based on the “facts” of the candidates, not experience.!
Honestly, if you want political experience you'd choose McCain. However, that experience doesn't mean Presidential success, so how do you choose. I'm trying to decide, so tell me.
If you want an outsider, then how can you not choose Obama? But, does outsider mean the person will be a “good” President. Who knows? Again, tell me how you would decide?
If military service is important, then tell me how I evaluate whether one's service is a predictor of Presidential success? I doubt there is a cause & effect correlation! I'm open to hear arguments though …
And, similarly, how does someone who can lead a “community” levely following be a good President. I don't know that that is a predictor of a good President either, but I'm open to hearing why it might. Please, someone, tell me why I can be confident in “that” person!
That's it, I'm undecided, but looking for “real” change …
