Obama camp has dueling statements on Palin choice

August 29th, 2008

When news of the Palin pick broke today the Obama campaign was quick to release the following statement:

“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies — that’s not the change we need, it’s just more of the same,” said Bill Burton, Obama Campaign Spokesman.

However McCain and Biden, who both called to congratulate the Governor of Alaska, put out a much softer statement later on with the Illinois Senator saying his campaign was on “hair trigger response” seemingly regretting the campaigns initial reaction.

Here is the new statement:

“We send our congratulations to Governor Sarah Palin and her family on her designation as the republican nominee for Vice President. It is yet another encouraging sign that old barriers are falling in our politics. While we obviously have differences over how best to lead this country forward Governor Palin is an admirable person and will add a compelling new voice to this campaign,” said Senator Barack Obama and Senator Joe Biden.

Palin was a great choice! The left doesn't like it when the right chooses a minority or a female. There are great Minority and Female GOP choices but the media buries them. We have not had a Senator for President since 1953. The only Govenor in the race is Palin. There is a big difference between legislating and having executive experience. Her experience is on par with Obama's. Who freed the slaves, Lincoln a Republican. Who cast the first delegate for a black man for President. A Republican voted for Frederick Douglas in the 1800's. Who were most of the good old boys in the 1960's against civil rights, Democrats!!! The media is already starting to manipulate national opinion. McCain has more experience then any of the candidates. He was climbing out of burning fighter plains while Obama was just out of diapers. We need leadership, the terror threat is still very real and the Dem's never focus on foreign policy. It's always about how to get more people on the government payroll so they will always vote for Democrats. We are heading right back to the days of King George. The colonists are restless throw them a few bones!

Here is my perspective. A fredom of expression granted to me by the 56 people who created, signed, and took action to impliment, The Declaration of Independence 232 years ago, and The Constitution that folowed. Along with the many thousands of people who perished in the wars to defend them since. My sincerest thanks is all I can offer to them at this time. Or is it? Were there left and right thinkers back then? Maybe a few, but the majority agreed that the government of England was taking more than it was giving and they did something to stop it. The system of government that was origonaly designed to be better has evolved for 232 years and comparatively is not that much different today. The have's still have and want more. The have not's still have little and want more. If someone in the middle comes up with something that will benifit all, the powers that be do a lot to take as much as they can from the profits. So if the canidate says he wants to “tax the rich.” This sounds good to the many working people who out number the people with the money so it's a very safe bet that the canidate is going to try to trick the masses into thinking they will gain a little for themselves from those three very powerfull words. So they vote (Why is it that there is still a electorial college and not a true popular vote? We trust our money to computers but we don't trust our vote to them?) that canidate in. So he gets elected and manages to put it through the congress what happens for the People? The big sucessfull companies go away and take their money and jobs with them. The little people end up paying more and get less. That is the reality of taxing the rich. Study some history if you don't believe me. (The 1920's when taxes were cut from 70 some percent to 20 some percent and America burst into life the Government was taking in more and the people were producing and getting more. Then when F.D.R. took over what happened? he raised taxes big and the people got the “great depression”. At lease he was able to stay in office long enough to clean up his own mess.) Don't fall for the tax the rich line, It's a lie, an empty campaign promise, and every canadate does it. The donkeys are hiding behind the green wall and the elephants are hiding behind the black one, and they shoot insults and sling mud at eachother. What is happening while they are doing this? Lets look and see. Boath are elected Senators. Meaning we are paying them $167,500 a year + benifits to do that job. What are they doing insted? Not the job they are paid to do. Obama said something to the effect that Washington is broken. How does he propose to fix it? Raise taxes help to create a whole new form of curency (Carbon) and this a a change all right. Is it the change we need? Now on the “other side of the isle” we have McCain. He's not much better but considering the mess the economy is in (caused by anticipation of the comming of Obama economy.)McCain's views are at least more realistic. Either way we are in for more rough seas. Is there a better, faster way out of the storm? Sure there is. Last time I checked majority rules, right? The powers in government consist of 535 members of the House 200 members of the Senate, 1 President, and 1 Vice President. That is a total of 737. There are around 300,000,000 people. I think we have the majority. I say we take the donkeys and the elephants out to pasture, and replace them with race horses. Do away with the political parties. A Democrat is still an American and a Republican is still an American, and if they aren't an American first then they need to go away regardless of their political party. Do what is expected of you as an elected representative. The big majority of people want lower fuel prices and we can give them with liquid coal, do it! The big majority want the government to spend less money and we can then do it or your fired. WE THE PEOPLE pay the tax. That makes us the boss. I'm not sure how they did it or when but they think they can tell us what to do. Not very many people can go up the the person who signs their pay check and tell them what to do. This is exactly what the government is doing to us. We need to fix it. I say vote for none of the above and see what happens. We don't need to wait for a new leader. We control the money. Income tax is can be easily changed. File exempt on your W-4 form at work, the law says that you can change that form anytime you want, just in case your boss gives you any static when you ask for a new form. If some how we (millions of people voted on American Idol I think this is far more important.) can get a vast majority of people to do this, say on election day, (the first Tuesday in November) it may not completely cut off the funds for the hungry federal beast but it might just send them the necessary message, without having to resort to the extream measures the people had to take 232 years ago. What is the worst that can happen? We all go to jail? then who will work and shop and do all the other things that feed the federal beast? Either way they will be forced to live without, and for the few that don't participate and go on as if nothing is wrong your tax dollars will provide all the rest of us in jail with food, shelter, and medical care.

    Think Different America Please!
Now stop “surfing the net”, and get back to work. That Senate Approprations committee member needs you to pay for his two week golf vacation in Hawaii.

At least nine countries including the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, and Red China enacted gun control laws BEFORE or during periods of governmental genoside. Over 84 million perple were killed by their governments. Why are Obama and Biden wanting to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens? Crimes are done by criminals. Gun control doesn't control criminals' guns. Wake up America!
