Obama attacks el Rushbo in Spanish, ABC says ad “Es Erróneo”
September 17th, 2008
In a new Spanish language ad Senator Barack Obama paints John McCain as anti-immigration using quotes from Rush Limbaugh taken out of context. Piecing together a soundbite of Limbaugh saying “…stupid and unskilled Mexicans” Obama says of McCain “John McCain and his Republican friends have two faces. One that says lies just to get our vote…and another, even worse, that continues the policies of George Bush that put special interests ahead of working families. John McCain…more of the same old Republican tricks.”
According to Jack Trapper on ABC’s Political Punch this and another quote by Limbaugh were taken completely out of context to give the perception that the radio host was calling Mexican’s stupid and “You shut your mouth or you get out!” The two quotes were from seperate occasions but put together in the ad and the meaning of both were distorted.
Trapper also points out that Limbaugh has been a vocal opponent of McCain’s immigration policy which Limbaugh and many Republicans saw as amnesty.
Jonathan Martin at Politico has this response from Limbaugh:
“Obama is now stoking racism in the country,” Limbaugh wrote in an email. “Obama is a disgrace – he wants the public to think he is Mr. Nice Guy while his thugs are in Alaska looking for dirt on Palin and he runs race-baiting ads and lies about what he has done and what McCain has done.”
Limbaugh also pointed out to Martin that the quotes were taken out of context.

Limbaugh has been openly racist, and sexist, and has distorted may things that Barack has said. I'll take the word of Barack Obama over the word of a drug addict any day.

Limbaugh has stated facts about Obama nothing more or less. This ad is just race baiting, and the bad thing is it's in spanish. If you can not speek english you don't need to vote.

Its funny how policy wise, the GOP neglects to acknowledge racism, sexism, or homophic tendencies as legitimate issues in this country. Their cries of unfairness and inequality fall on deaf ears when you have a long history of policy that suggests otherwise.

Obama's campaign is a message of paranoia which is the typical liberal demarcate way. He tries to instill fear in all Americans and has been passive aggressive in his approach and this add is a perfect example of it. He is the clear wrong choice for this country and what we need at this time.
