Obama spent $700,000 in Berlin; Calls opposition to tax plan selfishness
October 31st, 2008
The Washington Times reports that this summer during his European tour Senator Obama paid $700,000 for staging and lighting to a company in Berlin for his much hyped but largely disfavored in America speech that took place in Germany.
As this news hits Obama today pushed back against calls by John McCain & Sarah Palin that his tax policy was tantamount to socialism by saying:
John McCain and Sarah Palin they call this socialistic,” Obama continued. “You know I don’t know when, when they decided they wanted to make a virtue out of selfishness.”

Phil Miranda here and, I just wanted to say that my six year old son inspired me to make this video about the November 4, 2008 Presidential election and the inspiration it's brought my children.

As the day approaches for us to elect a new president, I wanted to make a couple of comments.
I was born in communist Cuba and was fortunate enough to be able to come to the United States with my family back in the 1970's. Since we did not have the privilege to vote in Cuba (nor speak against the government for fear of incarceration or death), the first thing I wanted to do when I became an American citizen was to register to vote….I could not wait to exercise my new right!
Since then, I have voted in every election (even the low profile, local ones) and even kept all the little stickers I've been given after voting saying “I voted.”
My husband and I are teaching our boys the importance of learning about candidates and how to vote according to our convictions and values. I even take them with me and let them press the buttons for the candidates we choose….this makes them feel very important.
I have never understood why people would choose not to exercise their right to vote when there are so many countries out there where people don't have that choice and have to put up with whatever regime they are under.
Lastly, I would like to ask people to think very hard before voting of which candidate would be the best person for the most important job in our great nation….Who would protect us from terrorists? Who would protect the right of the unborn? Who would not take our hard-earned money and give it away….”spread the wealth” and call those of us who are opposed to this form of government selfish and bitter?
America, wake up….socialism is just around the corner. As one who has lived through this, it is something we will regret.
Sincerely,
Nancy
