Site Updates

April 9th, 2007

Hello all and thank you for visiting. The site traffic is slowly but surely increasing and I am thankful for your visits.

I have been doing a lot of behind the scenes work lately. A good deal of the site is still not organized and fully completed. Things took a lot longer to get setup then I had originally planned and life has been throwing more curveballs than expected. I am making progress however and I am enjoying the process of bringing the site to you. So if you have seen little quirky bugs etc., I apologize. I am in the process of cleaning everything up.

One quick note. I have installed and am in the process of integrating a site-wide calendar system. I tried many, many different pre-made scripts and none of them worked out as well as Easy PHP Calendar which unfortunately wasn’t free but was by no means expensive. I do have to throw in a free plug for the software and say I have never used a pre-made script as easy to install as this one. It actually came with a full blown .exe (no mac version unfortunately) file which did all the initial installation and setup for me. No major hoops done in about ten seconds.

From there on I could run and test every aspect before buying. I am really impressed and will hopefully have it integrated everywhere soon. Meanwhile you can check it out on the ElectionGeek ‘08 Calendar page. Luckily I can use the system for all future elections so I am happy.

Lazy Monday

January 15th, 2007

Well, actually it is a not so lazy Monday. I have been really behind on updates lately so I spent most of this MLK Monday morning getting the site back on track.

Ice Monday - 1/15/07

As you can see from the photo above the weather isn’t so hot here. Ice and rain fill everything and I have heard from some people around Upstate that they have lost power. Lucky for me I had the holiday off and have been pretty warm and toasty and chosen not to leave the house.

The only thing I can complain about is the fact that Stern is off for the day but luckily Bubba The Love Sponge, fresh off his wedding, is live on the air. So I will spend the rest of the afternoon finishing updates and enjoying some Ned recaps of the wedding magillicutty jones on the backside with the deal on. (For those none Sirius subscribers, just ignore that last paragraph!)

Sorry I’ve now read ninety articles about Mitt Romney changing his political views so I am a bit loopy.
