The 2008 Democratic Convention was held from August 25th through August 28th at the Denver Pepsi Center concluding on night four at Invesco Field.

Monday August 25th 2008 - One Nation
The first night of the Democratic National Convention focused on the personal story of Senator Barack Obama and included speeches by Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, Jesse Jackson Jr., Maya Soetoro-Ng (Obama's half sister) and Michelle Obama. The night included an emotional tribute to Senator Ted Kennedy who is battling life threatening health problems. It was not known if the Senator would be able to attend the event but he ultimately came and spoke to the Convention. At the end Senator Obama surprised the audience appearing by Satellite to speak with his family who was on stage following Ms. Obama's speech.

The opening night of the Convention will highlight Barack’s life story, his commitment to change, and the voices of Americans who are calling for a new direction for this country.

Tuesday August 26th 2008 - Renewing America's Promise
The second night of the Democratic National Convention focused on the economy and the message of undoing what Democrats see as the failed policies of President George W. Bush. The keynote speaker was Senator Mark Warner who gave an address about forming national unity and working across the political isle.
The night also saw a speech by Senator Hillary Clinton who spoke about party unity and urged the 18 milion voters who cast their ballot for her to support Senator Obama.

Millions of Americans are struggling to get by. The failed policies of the last eight years have betrayed the country’s values and left an economy out of balance. Barack Obama believes a strong economy is unattainable with a weak middle class. Tuesday’s Convention program will feature the voices of Americans who share Barack’s concerns and strongly support his detailed economic plan to grow the economy, create jobs, restore fairness, and expand opportunity.

The third day of the Democration National Convention focused on National Security and introduced the recently announced Vice Presidential candidate Senator Joseph Biden to the Party. A major speech given by President Bill Clinton, who had been critical throughout the campaign of Senator Obama, was given.

Thursday August 28th 2008 - Change We Can Believe In
The fourth night of the Democratic National Convention moved from the Denver Pepsi Center to Invesco Field where more than 84,000 people watched Senator Barack Obama accept the Party nomination. The Obama campaign wanted to open the convention to average Americans and not just delegates. Several musical acts including Bon Jovi & Sheryl Crow performed.
On Thursday night, the DNCC will throw open the doors of the Convention and move to INVESCO Field at Mile High so that more Americans can be a part of the fourth night of the Convention as Barack Obama accepts the Democratic nomination. Obama will communicate the urgency of the moment, highlight the struggles Americans are facing and call on Americans to come together to change the course of our nation.
