Why the Right Will LOVE Fred Thompson

May 15th, 2007

So filmmaker Michael Moore got himself into trouble taking 9/11 survivors to Cuba possibly breaking the law in the process. This lead many of his critics to, well, criticize him for the move. One of those critics? Fred Thompson heavily suspected of becoming a candidate for the Republican nomination in 2008.

Moore issued a challenge to Thompson citing the former Senators love of Cuban cigars as a point of hypocrisy and challenging him to a debate. Which lead to the following video with cigar in hand:

I can just imagine this video is going to electrify the Republican base on the Internet and will undoubtedly make its way to TV. I have to give kudos to Thompson too. At the first Republican debate every one of the candidates tried to frame themselves in the light of Reagan. Thompson, in thirty seconds, did it just fine showing his acting chops, his ability to control a message, be tuff, serious, funny & on point all at the same time and all in a matter of seconds.

Tech President should be watching because this is how video will INDEED change & influence the election. All the 1984 paradise in the world won’t stack up to the power in this video and how it will undoubtedly spread.

It also did one more thing. Thompson won’t be at the debate tonight but he undoubtedly, in thirty seconds, sent out a more powerful then the other ten candidates will give at the podium.

I just cannot say enough about how well crafted this thing was and how well it plays to the Republican base.
