The continuing Drudge onslaught against former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee continues today as the site reveals a reported directive coming down from the upper eschelons of the DNC to hold off any criticism against the governor believing he is the “glass jaw” of the Republican party.

A surge of anti-Huckabee stories has been coming out from Republican circles to match the candidates surge in Iowa and national polls. Everything from Huckabee’s belief that homosexuality is a sin, his former belief that AIDS patients should be isolated and recent revelations that he called for America to be “taken back” for Christ and women should obey husbands has been making the rounds, especially on Drudge where they often receive giant billing.

Is there a directive straight from the Democrats? Honestly, who knows, but many of these recent revelations only seem like they will help Huckabee with evangelical voters in Iowa while plummeting his chances with mainstream America.
