What We Know - Exit Polling

Exit polling from Vermont, Rhode Island, Texas and Ohio is coming in:
Clinton leads among Hispanics, late deciders and women in Texas, also leads on those who says the economy is the biggest issue, those who think NAFTA is taking jobs away and union households in Ohio.
Obama leads in both states among voters on electability, ability to inspire.

African-Americans: Obama 83%, Clinton 16%
Latinos: Clinton 64%, Obama 35%
Ohio:
Voters under 30: Obama 65%, Clinton 34%
Voters 60 and over: Clinton 67%, Obama 31%
Does trade reduce more jobs than it creates?
Ohio: Yes 81% Texas: Yes 58%

–Self-described independents were about one in five voters in Ohio’s Democratic primary, one in four in Texas, a third in Rhode Island and four in 10 in Vermont.
–In the GOP race in Ohio, independents were about one in seven voters, in Texas one in five.
–Roughly six in 10 Democratic voters Tuesday said superdelegates should vote based on results of the primaries and caucuses rather than for the candidate they think has the best chance to win in November.
–A whopping eight in 10 in Ohio’s Democratic primary said international trade takes more jobs from the state than it creates.
–One in seven Obama voters acknowledged Clinton as more qualified to be commander in chief; fewer than one in 20 Clinton voters said that about Obama.
–Four in 10 Clinton voters in Ohio and Texas said Obama inspires them about the future of the country.
