DNC Source Says MI Will Caucus
March 7th, 2008
From the New Republic:
A member of the DNC’s Rules And Bylaws Committee–the committee that stripped Florida and Michigan of its delegates for moving their primaries before February 5th–told me that Michigan plans to get out of its uncounted delegate problem by announcing a new caucus in the next few days.
“They want to play. They know how to do caucuses,” the DNC source said. “That was their plan all along, before they got cute with the primary.”
Michigan had broken DNC rules by holding an early primary. Every Democratic candidate with the exception of Senator Clinton [and as reader Any pointed out, Dodd, Kucinich & Gravel, I meant to say MAJOR candidate] kept their name off the ballot and the party stripped the state of its delegates. This is the first major sign that the state will move to hold a new contest and win back its right to seat delegates. With that said this is just one source so before we get too excited lets wait and see what happens.

good article but your claim that all democratic candidates except clinton took their name off of the ballot is false. at least kucinich and some others kept their name on

You also forgot to mention that at least 40% voted “uncommitted.”
