A Unique Take on Hillary Clinton by Dick Morris
April 3rd, 2008
One time Clinton advisor turned hater Dick Morris has a unique take on why Senator Clinton will not be leaving the Democratic race before the convention.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign currently owes vendors $8 million, exclusive of the $5 million she owes herself. She cannot use general election money to pay for this debt. If she begins to be anything less than certain that she will stay in up to the convention, she won’t raise any money and will be stuck with the debt. She also realizes that it is only by projecting an almost manic air of certainty that she has any chance at all of hanging onto super delegates. The first whiff they get of a withdrawal, they will all run screaming to Obama to get on the late train. Don’t think that Hillary is delusional. She knows she’s lost but she has no choice but to play the rest of the game. To fold now would leave her in an untenable situation.
Morris has always been, how should I put this, a less than reliable source of information and commentary so take it with a grain of salt. With that said, facing a growing and almost certain defeat it is as good of a reason as any why Clinton continues to fight.

I agree about Morris, but Time also mentioned this the other day.
“While some inside the campaign are concerned about whether Clinton will have the funds to match Obama in radio and TV advertising buys through May, others are worried about a different horizon. One Clinton adviser wondered whether that what he called the “massive debt” was beginning to hang over not simply the campaign but Clinton’s political future. How, this adviser asked, can the campaign climb out of “the debt hole if we don’t win this whole thing?” Facing a Senate reelection campaign in 2012, he noted, Clinton’s choice is daunting: “If you have a $10 million debt when this thing is over, she has to pay it off, and then, four years later, raise $30 to $40 million” to wage a reelection campaign.”

Dick morris was caught using prostitutes in the news a while back - he is not a great person. Why not just go after President Bush’s terrible performance as the worst president in U. S. history?

Whatever else he is, Morris is politically astute.
I’ll lean toward his take on the situation.

Hillary has an ego bigger than any house in the USA and she cannot accept defeat. That ia why she can’t quite-she just cannot accept her brutal reality (i.e. she’s not anything special)..
If she continues her campaign, she will end up spending a lot more money that she doesn’t have (and she’s probablly psycatic, but not stupid). So I don’t buy
the explaination that she wants to get more contributions to get out of debt–she’s just digging the hole deeper and deeper!

So? Why do you think we’re still in Iraq? ‘Cause the powers that be think we’ve got a chance to win? Try again.

Who cares if Bush was a great President or not? He’s on the way out regardless. Just because he’s a Republican it doesn’t mean another Republican isn’t a good choice. Pretty are naive sometimes and believe what the liberal media whines about.

I agree with FreedomFirst. Except I think he meant to type “People are pretty naive sometimes.” This is true. They will buy into whatever the liberal media says is true—even if it’s a lie or they ommit important information. We know very little about Obama. It is almost scary. We know much more about Hillary, but unfortunately she’s a proven liar. McCain is the only choice left unfortunately. Even though he’s not perfect, he SURE is a better choice than those other two Democratic socialists.

Hillary has to continue to run so she can continue to collect contribution money. It’s that simple. If she drops out, she won’t be able to replenish the money she’s already spent on this race.
