Ralph Nader announced on Meet the Press this morning that he will run for president as an independent. Time magazine link to the story.
Spent most of his time on Meet the Press going after Barack Obama, whom he sees as lacking in embracing core liberal principals on corporate and military waste. Also said that if Democrats don’t win this election in a landslide they should simply give up before going into a laundry list of reasons why Americans will not support John McCain.
Also took a dig at Senator by saying his run will be streamlined and won’t rely on highly paid political consultants whom he sees as ruining Clinton’s chances.
America’s favorite old coot Ralph Nader’s exploratory committee released the following e-mail:
As you know, we’ve been exploring the possibilities in recent weeks.
And here’s one question that keeps coming up:
What’s been pulled off the table by the corporatized political machines in this momentous election year?
Answer:
Cutting the huge, bloated and wasteful military budget, adopting a single payer Canadian-style national health insurance system, impeaching Bush/Cheney, opposing nuclear power - among many others.
Who will pick up these issues and put them back on the table?
Hope you get a chance to tune in to watch Ralph Nader this Sunday on Meet the Press.
