Speaking on “The Early Show” on CBS, Clinton said “that may be where this is headed, but of course we have to decide who is on the top of the ticket.”

With that in mind I just wanted to add this thought. I have heard COUNTLESS commentators say there is “no way” Clinton would ever settle for the VP slot. Honestly I don’t think these people have any clearer sense of what is in Clinton’s head or heart than I do. Frankly if she is heading to the convention, I think she must have some opening in her mind for that.

Let’s face facts, despite all of the Clinton’s campaign arguments that she is the one with experience, ready to lead, Obama cannot catch up, neither of them has the kind of military command that McCain does and both are going to take a beating in the general because of it. Clinton could sell herself as a VP who is helping to steady the ship and add something to an Obama ticket, the Cheney to his Bush only with more heart.

We will see, but again, don’t just believe the people who speculate she wouldn’t take the VP slot, same with those saying he would be second fiddle or not second fiddle to her. No one but the candidate know and even they won’t have an understanding until that time comes.
