Kucinich Says Obama Should Be Second Choice in Iowa for Followers

January 1st, 2008

If Dennis Kucinich supporters fail to reach 15% of the mass in precincts the Congressman is already letting them know who they should turn around and caucus for. The choice? Senator Barack Obama.

“This is obviously an ‘Iowa-only’ recommendation, as Sen. Obama and I are competing in the New Hampshire primary next Tuesday where I want to be the first choice of New Hampshire voters.”

“I hope Iowans will caucus for me as their first choice this Thursday, because of my singular positions on the war, on health care, and trade. This is an opportunity for people to stand up for themselves. But in those caucus locations where my support doesn’t reach the necessary threshold, I strongly encourage all of my supporters to make Barack Obama their second choice. Sen. Obama and I have one thing in common.”

In 2004 Kucinich asked his followers to caucus for John Edwards as their second choice.

Keyes Yes, Kucinich No

December 12th, 2007

Very little newsworthy came out of today’s much-hyped Republican debate. Silly candidates, all they did was talk about their positions on issues, what were they thinking?

The big news today was that Alan Keyes was on the dais in Iowa for the very last Republican debate before the Caucus and tomorrow for the last Democratic debate Dennis Kucinich will be denied from appearing. Oddly enough it has been reported Keyes only has one campaign worker while Kucinich was denied for his field director working out of his house instead of an office.

Is Kucinich A Debate Hypocrite?

July 22nd, 2007

That is what Mari Evans claims on the blog Celebescene. Mari points out that Kucinich, who has been infuriated over the prospect of losing national airtime during Democratic debates, has refused to debate congressional opponents. This lead to opponent Barbara Anne Ferris taking extreme measures and interrupting (read crash) a public summit hosted by Kucinich after he refused to debate her.

Ben Smith also pointed this out not long ago in The Politico and had a quote from Kucinich who claimed his limiting of democratic debate was different because of “personalities”. What that means, I have no idea.
