Richard Land, president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission says that Giuliani is a non-starter. The former mayor has been getting A LOT of rather odd press showing he is taking the religious right and social conservatives by storm despite his pro-choice, pro gun control, pro-gay rights beliefs.

The same is coming from the Mitt Romney camp showing he is getting a lot of right support despite his not so ‘right’ record.

To be honest I am feeling skeptical on each side especially since those same reports say these groups will not support John McCain who actually has been consistent on social issues in his voting record for several decades. Why would they distrust John McCain but support Giuliani or Romney? Doesn’t make sense.
