Clinton & South Carolina
February 20th, 2007
Senator Hillary Clinton is being asked questions about her relationship with South Carolina Sen. Darrell Jackson who recently gave his endorsement to her campaign. Jackson’s consulting firm has also been hired by Senator Clinton’s campaign and charges of trading money for influence.
Meanwhile Sen. Clinton also brought back a highlight of the 2000 Presidential campaign saying that a confederate flag which flies on statehouse grounds. If you remember it became a big issue in the Republican primary and left John McCain who said the flag should continue to fly apologizing after the campaign and admitting that he lied to voters about his true position because he feared losing their votes.
Frankly I don’t see how bringing this issue up helps Clinton in her bid for the nomination BUT perhaps it is a maneuver or more to the point a dig at McCain and an issue for the general elections. All I do know is I seriously do not want another few months of confederate flag debate in this election like we had in 2000.
