July 8th, 2007
Story from NY1.
John D’Amato’s family says he died of a heart attack while jogging yesterday.
Along with Giuliani, D’Amato, 52, worked with several other New York Republicans over his career, including Councilman James Oddo and Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro.
More recently D’Amato was on the board of directors for NYC 2012, the city’s failed bid for the Olympics.
He also worked as a trial lawyer, representing over 100 family members in hearings before the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund. Giuliani hired him to manage his campaign in the city just two months ago.
